Welcome to Street Level

Street Level is a voluntary organisation which works in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council's Universal Connections.

We provide services and activities for young people aged 11 to 25. Read more about us or check the list below for the activities and clubs happening at Street Level.

Fridays are band nights...
  • Monday - In the evening the Young Carers Group get the place to themselves for a couple of hours and the Duke of Edinburgh Awards group meet later on.

  • Tuesday - We get a visit from the young people of Stanmore House school - or sometimes we visit them or organise a trip with them to the bowling, skating etc. The careers advisor holds a surgery from 2 - 4pm. In the evening is the Drop In when the building is open for anyone and is a kind of non-programmed, informal night. A chance for young people to meet friends and chat with staff and volunteers.

  • Wednesday - A group from The Dale Centre come to use the computer and Internet facilities. The "Surviving School" group - young folk who are having difficulties at school. Another Drop In night but the conference hall is made available to the Diversion to Custody group where staff from here and social work dept. work with young people at risk of ending up in prison. It can also be booked for band rehearsal etc.

  • Thursday - Supported study for help with homework etc. The User Group meet to discuss what's happening or should be happening within the building.

  • Friday - Event night - Fridays alternate between band night and disco night. See some of our regular bands here. Most of the bands are local young folk. The disco / karaoke nights are great fun and music is supplied by our own young D.J's.

  • Saturday - Music tuition and band practice, Drop In, Indoor football, (we take a team down to the community centre)

  • Sunday - The building is available for Church Youth groups to use as an alternative meeting place. At the moment Kirkton Church's bible class (now known as Cyber Faith) meet in the mornings.
