Help Protect Your Car
By Anne Knox - October 1st, 2008

Buying a car is one of the major purchases that you will make in your lifetime. What make, what colour, what gadgets to install? So many choices to make. But, have you thought about how to keep it safe. There has been a spate of car thefts in the Clydesdale area around 78 from the beginning of March to the end of August. While the police will do all they can after the event, what can you do to try to stop it happening? The obvious advice is to not leave valuables e.g. sat nav, mobile phones in full veiw, this leaves temptation in its way for thieves. In a recent BBC programme Cars, Cops and Criminals it explored how 21st century car thiefs are part of organised gangs. They showed how thieves use various ways to obtain your car keys from your house so that they can drive away your car. The local chief Inspector has also reiterated the advice to keep your car keys in a safe place at home, hidden from view of any door and window. If you have an expensive car you may want to invest a few pounds in a tracking device. For further information on how to protect your car check out Protect Your Car
