Industrial Action Information

Members of UNISON, Unite and the GMB trades unions are holding a day of industrial action on Wednesday 20 August 2008.
As of this morning (August 19) of the 124 primary schools, 22 are open and of the 17 secondary schools eight are open. All council nurseries are closed.
The following schools will be OPEN on August 20.
Primary Schools - Abington, Auchengray, Auldhouse, ,Beckford, Bent, Braidwood, Burgh, Castlefield, Coalburn, Coulter, Crawford, Douglas, Gilmourton, Lamington, Libberton, Neilsland, Sandford, St John's (Hamilton), Stablestone, Tinto, Wester Overton and Woodside.
Secondary Schools - Calderglen High School, Calderside Academy, Carluke High School, Duncanrig Secondary School, Holy Cross High School, Lesmahagow High School, St Andrew's and St Bride's High School, Stonelaw High School and Kittoch School.
Parents will be advised of closures, and other arrangements for schools which are open. It is likely that school meals will not be provided.
Libraries
All libraries are closed, with the exception of Calderwood in East Kilbride.
Refuse collection
There will be no bin uplift on Wednesday but we would ask residents to put their bins out on Thursday instead and we will uplift as soon as possible on Thursday or Friday. There will be no special uplifts for garden waste or bulky household waste for Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. The civic amenity sites will be open with the exception of the Carluke Civic Amenity Site.
