Council Launches Online Poll for Leadhills Consultation
![]() |
The Leadhills Conservation area regeneration scheme will provide grants for the repair and conservation of properties in the Leadhills conservation area. It aims to protect and enhance the character of the conservation area and help create a sustainable future for the village.
Some of the £800,000 fund, from Historic Scotland and the Council, will also go into improving public spaces in the conservation area.
Before this fund becomes available later this year, South Lanarkshire Council welcomes your views on the consultative draft of the Leadhills conservation area appraisal and management plan. You can comment on this online By clicking here
The draft describes what makes the area special and how change can be sensitively carried out.
If you would prefer to view a hardcopy of the document it is also available in Leadhills at the shop on Main Street, the Village Hall on Ramsay Road and in the Miner's Library on Main Street.
The consultation will end on Friday 1 August 2008. After then the appraisal and management plan will be finanalised and eventually adopt it as supplementary planning guidance for the conservation area.
