By Ken Fawell - April 28th, 2008

On Saturday 26th April members of the society gathered at the Modern Art Galleries in Belford Road, Edinburgh to be met by a guide from the Waters of Leith Visitor Centre and were treated to a fascinating tour of one section of the Waters of Leith Mills trail. A total of 76 mills once were working on the Leith none of which exist today but the tantalising evidence of their existance was more than fascinating. The history of the area was also explained as a bonus. It is hoped that in subsequent years members can visit other sections of the Leith to continue the incredible story.
I was also proposed that volunteers from the Waters of Leith should visit Clydesdale to see what we have to offer and also visit the New Lanark SWT Reserve and follow our propsed mills trail. More pics on Visits section of site
