Children with Additional Needs Information Event

Council Offices, Banqueting Hall, Almada Street, Hamilton
It's free and open to families, friends and professionals involved in the care of children with additional needs.

There will be stands with staff on hand to answer your queries from a wide range of voluntary agencies, NHS Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire Council's Education, Social Work and Community Resources and Housing and Technical Services. There will also be health checks and complementary therapies such as aromatherapy, massage and beauty therapies offered to those interested. Transport and a small crèche will be available but must be booked in advance.

Offering advice and information on subjects including buy-to-let lending and ending tenancies and regaining possession of your property, the meeting, chaired by NLA Scotland representatives David Kendall and Brian MacBride, will also allow landlords to have their questions answered on a variety of other topics concerning them.

The open evening will take place at South Lanarkshire Council Offices, Almada Street, Hamilton. Doors will open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Tea, coffee, pastries and muffins will be served. Non members welcome

Ahoy Shipmates! Scotland’s favourite children’s entertainers, The Singing Kettle are setting sail for a thrilling singalong voyage to a tropical paradise. They soon discover that plundering pirates have made off with the precious cargo of treasure kettles and taken the booty back to their hideout on Pirate Island. There’s lots of nautical nonsense and songs to join in with, including “Pirate Crew”, “The Drunken Sailor” and “Over the Irish Sea”. Even Bonzo the Dog will be invited to walk the plank. In the UK, we all change our clocks and watches by one hour, twice a year. In the spring, we add an hour, and go onto what is called British Summer Time.
In the autumn, we do the reverse, and adhere to Greenwich Mean Time.
This is the time we manage to get an extra hour in the bed.
