Glespin Community Group have organised for a range of crafters to demonstrate their expertise at Glespin Community Hall on Saturday, from 1pm until 4pm. There will be demonstrations in sugar craft, card making and flower arranging among others, with opportunities for participants to have a go at each of the crafts. Further information about materials and techniques will be available from the demostrators on the day.

Lanark 2007 - Scotland's History Festival
Lanark Racecourse, Hyndford Road, Lanark ML11 9TA
Several hundred historical re-enactors from across Britain and Europe re-create life in Scotland at the time of the Vikings and also during the Wars of Independance.
Come and see the largest re-enactment event ever held in Scotland: meet the colourful Rus Vikings and learn how Vikings in the 10th and 11th century lived and fought. Meet William Wallace, Robert the Bruce and the dreaded Longshanks with his English Royal Court.
At least two battles daily, living history and warriors encampments, historic traders encampment, come and try your hand at archery, medieval falconer with public participation, food and crafts street market, on site catering and car parking including disabled, medieval musicians, jesters and jugglers, storytellers, archery tournamenmt for the Lanark Silver Arrow, arena displays, entertainers, combat and other displays.

Official opening of new sensory garden at the entrance to Lanark Racesourse. Go along and see the fruition of months of hard work by many people some of whom have support needs. John Hastie Park, Strathaven
An exciting event for the whole family. At 6am the balloonists will begin their flights over the beautiful Lanarkshire countryside. Then on the Saturday afternoon a lot of activities will be on offer, such as: music from the Bellshill Concert Band, a demonstration by Falkirk Falconry, the Kite Club of Scotland, line dancers, dog agility, Irish dancers, marching from the Strathaven Pipe Band, a funfair, children's entertainment, craft stalls and a tombola stand. Also at night the sky appears to be truly spectacular as the balloonists prepare for an evening "glow" - which should not be missed!

A public meeting will be held regarding the possibility of erecting information signs in the village. It is intended that the signs will provide information on the village's amenites, community groups, events and place of interest. This would be a pilot scheme, exclusive to carstairs Junction and the other villages in the Fare Share area which if succesful could be rolled out across other communities.
