Brownsbank was purchased by Biggar Museum Trust in the early 1990s. The original interior was restored just as MacDiarmid had left it, and contains numerous portraits and photographs, and a unique collection of memorabilia. The cottage is now home of the writer-in-residence.Poetry readings, live background music, tours and book sales throughout the day.
